ACOS SUPPORTS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS

Mental Health care is an important facet in our society just as physical health care. All over the nation, we see mental health crisis. Primarily in Michigan, many mental health institutions were closed. Whether it is depression, suicide prevention, mental health counseling, adolescent/youth care this is an area where much needs to be done. Acclaim Community OUtreach supports NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness and participates in NAMI Walks each year. Kevin Fischer is an inspiring speaker who brought wonderful information to ACOS youth outreach.

Ecorse Community High School Band Project

On March 14, 2018, Acclaim Community Outreach Services and Corporation for Artistic Development (CAD) collaborated together to assist Ecorse Community High School Marching Band with their need to obtain new band uniforms. One of the students in the marching band brought to the attention of Acclaim Community Outreach that their band uniforms were really worn and that they could really use updated uniforms.

Acclaim Community Outreach helped Ecorse Community High School in obtaining 110 like new uniforms from Hempfield High School in Pennsylvania.

Corporation for Artistic Development and Acclaim Community Outreach sponsored a mini-concert and speech to Ecorse Community High School students aimed at encouraging high education. The guest celebrity who performed a mini-concert and speech was Supreme (aka Lamont Compton) of the Wu Tang Clan. The Ecorse Community High School Marching Band performed during the program,
