Bellamy Correctional Facility - Ionia, MI

 Acclaim Community Outreach is dedicated to extending its reach to those who are incarcerated. Initially, Deerfield Correctional Facility and Bellamy Correctional Facility in Ionia, MI welcomed our prisoner outreach efforts led by Bill Morrow, the Program Coordinator. Eventually, Deerfield merged with Bellamy Correctional Facility. Collaborating with contemporary gospel recording artist Sounds of Imani, ACOS orchestrated music concerts and shared uplifting words with both male and female prisoners. Unfortunately, the outreach faced significant challenges during the Covid shutdown, and our organization will be informed when the prisons reopen for these activities.

Drs. Gerald & Carol underwent prison outreach training through Chuck Colson’s Operation Starting Line program of the Prison Fellowship organization years ago and have since continued this impactful work. They visited local prisons in Michigan and various states, ministering through music and the word of God, providing encouragement and upliftment to incarcerated men and women.
